any opinion on Flik Ftd wheels?

Hi all.
I need a set of new wheels, so I was looking at
Flik FTD 17x8 wheels to put some 245 tires on for the summer.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with those particular wheels or this brand?
They say that those are racing wheels, but I'm not planning to race, I need just regular wheels for everyday driving, will those kind of wheels do ok?
Also, would 45 offset on 17x8 be ok, or would I need a smaller offset?

thanks for your help.

P.S. just noticed a similar post on 5th gen. Doing some reading, but some new input is always appreciated. Thanks.

There's mixed reviews on them. They're definitely not as durable as the more expensive wheels, but for the price they would make nice lightweight track wheels. They should hold decently for everyday driving, although there have been some complaints about the finish of the wheel wearing off. Also, I've heard that the wheels aren't as light as advertised. (http://www.dragva.com/forums/archive.../t-72161.html). I looked at these wheels, but I'd rather spend the money and get a set of high quality wheels.

I'm not sure about the offset, but if you're lowered a 45 offset on a 8 inch wheel might give you some rubbing...

Thanks for your reply.
I'm not really concerned with weight or finish wearing off.
I'm more concern about the wheels being durable and doing their job for at least next three years. BTW, one of the .ORG members told me that he got the Flik FTDs three month ago and still is happy with them.
My stock 17"s are somewhat beat up after almost six years, but still hold air.
But I don't want to spend too much $$$ on new ones.
Though, which ones would you consider "high quality"? and how much more would I have to spend on those??
thanks.

I'm thinking about getting them to in order to replace my old sotck ones.
I was wondering, since the website says they are racing wheels, would they work ok as everyday driving wheels for the summer?
How long have you had them? Any particular problems, notes?
Appreciate your advice.

I already have the tires (My friend is giving me his slightly used Continental SportContact 2 - two 225/45/17 and two 245/40/17 - they should be good for the summer)
My only concern with those wheels is their strength. Since they are pretty light wheels, I wonder how long will they withstand everyday abuse. Do I have to be on the look out for every pothole, or would it be ok if I hit one here and there every once in a while?
I couldn't find any info on the warranty.
I haven't purposely run my car over a pothole so I can't tell you exactly how strong they are, but from my research online, let's just say it's strong enough to get abused. The thing that worries me is that you're getting used tires from a friend, and they are in the wrong size. I can understand why you want to go with 225/45/17 but why 245/40/17? And I hope you're not planning to put the 245/40/17 in the rears? If I were you, I'd get same size tires all around, and get tires that have at least 93 load rating. Good luck.

actually, that is exactly what i was planning to do - put 245/40/17 on the rear. Why would that be a problem??? It's only for summer - I have a set of winter tires on stock wheels for the winter.
