Staggered wheels on 6th gen YAY or NAY?

Looking to buy some new shoes for my max. Want a really really deep dish look. 2" deep But the only wheels that i like are staggered (wider in the back than in the front for RWD cars) So I know as far as perfomance and handling factor it makes no sense but as far as looks YAY or NAY?

Your Honda rice roots are showing. Just order the rims non staggered 8" front and rear.

I correct that with a 8.5" width and 34-35mm offset

It looks ridiculous to have staggered wheels on a FWD

i too say nay!! Plus you can't rorate your tires at all with staggered. Think about that. Besides it looks really funny. I had once considered staggered but quickly came to my senses.

Axis Wheels makes the Decade w/ Maxxis lip for the rears to give FWD cars that staggered look. It's kind of being a poseur though IMO. Good luck anyway.

I am running 19x8 with a 30mm offest (front) and 19x8.5 with 33mm offset (rear) and am looking it.

thanks guys, this makes my decision a lot easier! I'll just go with some tuner 19's or 20's. Something like axis hypersilvers or gunmetal for fwd cars. You are all right it would be absolutely rediculous having 275's + sitting in the back. Look like a damn poser yo! (just kidding)

I curbed one of the spokes on both my front wheels....Id like different rims...but I was suprised to see on tirerack (when you get the least expensive tires) that a 18" set came to like $1200 and 20" came to $1500. The least expensive sets of each size that I liked. I guess might as well do 20 in this case just because it looks better.

That is not really much of a stagger. But I do love the look of those wheels on the max.

What size tires do you have on there? Cause it looks like u have a mad gap in the front? Is your Maxima lowered?

I almost did a backwards stagger like on the Pontiac GXP, with a 303HP v8 engine and a reverse stagger (larger tire upfront). Many review mags say it has very natural handling. But now that I see them driving by, it looks like two little wheels trying to keep up with the front ones.

On a FWD car, it makes more sense to have the wider tires up front, NOT rear. Don't get me wrong, wide(275+) rears look hot, but I'm more concerned about performance...and safety.

I'd like to go 50/50 on two sets of G35 19's. Someone else can keep the two pairs of wider rear wheels, and I'll keep the two pairs of narrower front wheels. Hard to co-ordinate something like that tho.

i like your RIMS unmatched. but since you live in NYC did the 19s kill your ride quality?
Im thinking about going 20s but afraid that my quiet gentle ride will be lost in nyc potholes.
also cant afford to have blown tires or bent rims.
a lot of the girls choose to sit in my car on trips because of the comfy ride.
and my friends have like 06g35 coupes and his are 18s
and my friend has stock 00 E class
just thought you guys would like to know that girls would prefer the soft ride compared to a benz. unless its the new benz because thos are QUIET!

sorry didnt mean to steal your post.

love the way it looks but hate the fact that you can never rotate. if you have the money or the hook up then do as you please.

I have Cattman springs in the front and the stock springs in the back, I had rubbing issues in the back with the Cattman springs.
The tire sizes are 225/40/19 (front) and 245/40/19 (rear).

I fully understand your concern and coming from an SL to now having the Cattman springs up front and these 19 inchers, I must say that while the car definitely does not ride as smooth as it did, it is by no means too harsh or intolerable. I have no real complaints about the ride and am loving the better looks and handling over stock.

BTW
My front passenger side rim fell in a huge pothole, the one right between the area where you merge from the Conduit to Linden Blvd and it did not crack or bend. A member from another forum fell in that same pot hole and had one of his after market rims split in two.

dang.
well since your rims are OEM they're much stronger!
i was thinking about going with the Lexus LS430 Rims. they're 18s but i can handle 18s (also the lexus rims are OEM but they have the Lexus logo)
machine silver not chrome.
what do you think?
but i know 20s will deff get girls all around! i mean im not going for 20s so i can run it at the track but as a daily driver of 30minutes 20inch rims are quite the BLING and PIMP Status i could use. because what are goodlooks for with out the good looking car ;]

Hopefully you won't do it...

You can get deep dish rims without going staggered. Mine are very deep

It was kind of hard to tell in the pics, but did you remove the infiniti center caps and replace with nissan ones?

Nah, I just left the Infiniti ones on. I guess I should switch them though. Your 6th gen looks great with the 19's.

I've always been a fan of the staggered wheel setup and have it on my Mustang Cobra. I've been seriously considering it for my Maxima also, until now. I think I'll just go with 8.5" wide wheels all around.

I ran a 19x9.5s on my 5.5 gen w/ a 275/30/19. The 5th gen just screams stagger due to that huge wheel well in the rear. Of course it threw the cars handling all off. But it looked damn good IMO. On a 6th gen it would be harder to pull off a stagger without looking dumb and or rubbing. Just remember its all for looks. Your car will not handle any better. If all you want is a deep lip, look into some 2pc wheels w/ custom offsets. Run a 35 et on a 20x9 and your going to have a 2-3" lip. Many people look down on the stagger on a FWD car, however look at Audi/VW's those guys love that crap. Its all for looks bottom line.

Don't have to buy them staggered.

The rims are like $160 each.
