Rim paint

Ok well im planning on painting my rims, need to get this done before school starts which is in a few weeks... i have a set of 18" rota subzeros, i dont like the scheme of the really almost white silver color of the wheels compared to the sun lit sand color of my car.

I was thinking of painting my wheels bronze or gold, but im not too shure about doing it because i dont think i have sceen a single sunlit sand w/ bronze or gold rims.

Suggestions' on other colors?
What kind of paint should i buy?
Is the duplicolor wheel paint anygood?
How many coats of clear should i put?
How should i prep the wheels?
Would i be able to paint the rims with the tire still on?.. masked of course.

fuel bronze would look nice on this car.... or possibly black...... i would not recommend doing this yourself .......it might look (home made) any local body shop/car painting shop will be able to paint the rims to the color you desire..... i live here in houston and a local paint shop charged my friend 70 bucks a wheel ..... and whats cool is that you treat your rim paint the same as you would your car paint.... hope this helps

Hmm.. ive got a set of old steelies in the back i could practice on.

Did they sandblast your wheels before they painted them?

I my friend's brother painted his rims and they came out really good, http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2575236 these are the wheels he painted for his brother's golf gti. They also have a sandblasting cabinet at their house, these wheels are 16's or 15's... i looked at their sandlblaster and i dont think my wheels would fit.
