18x9 offset question help for TSW Vortex.

I"m going to run a staggered setup on my TSW wheels, which I am about to order, but I have a few questions for the pros.

The fronts will be 18x8's with a 40mm offest (I'll probably run 10mm spacers to get them flush with the edge of the car) and 235/40's.

I am going to run 18x9's in the rear with 265/35's, and their only options for offset TSW gives is a 20 offset, and 35 offset. Which ones should I choose? I don't mind being in too far, as I can run spacers.

Am I correct when I say that the larger the offset, the further they stick in towards the center of the car?

The rears @ +35mm will stick out 35mm and be 15mm closer to the strut housing.

Ideally 38mm would be optimal for the rear
