215/55/17 2003 GLE Choices

I was wondering if there are good quality not too expensive 215/55/17 tires on the market. I heard the cooper was decent but I was wondering if there are more choices beside the OEM and Pilots. For someone who is not a hard driver, lives in NY with a budget of $400 and trying to stick with the OEM size.
Thanks!

225/50/17 is a comparable size with more choices. My buddy just installed 4 Kumho Ecsta ASX tires in that size on his '02 GLE and he couldn't be happier. You should be able to get them shipped to you for about $400 too.

I just purchased Kumho tires, but I am using the OEM size 215/55/17 Solus KH16 from tirerack.com.

I previously owned Kumho Ecsta ASX tires from my '97 Max (which I no longer own). They were great tires. IMO, I am happy with the tires for the price compared to the rest. The ratings/comparison on tirerack.com also helped me in my decision. I'm not a spirited driver anymore, so something reliable and a good price were all I needed.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your decision.
