Winter Tire... which one to pick?

k... i never thought i will need this... but now i need to abandon my car in the lot and take a bus home.... it is a nightmare to use Kuhmo Ecsta Supra on the snow... nvm they r summer tires.. i just never thought that there will be a snow like this in victoria... but anyway.... did a little search, found these tires in a acceptable price... they r :
1.Firestone Winterforce $129.99 CDN
2.Hankook Icebear W300 $129.99 CDN
3.Hankook W409 Winter i*Pike $115.99 CDN
4.Kumho KW17 $139.99 CDN
5.Kumho KW19 $135.99 CDN
6.Pirelli Winter Carving $159.99 CDN

ofcouse i know Pirelli is the best.... and i know there are better tires out there...
but the price tag is just too much for me.... and thsese are basically all i can find around here.. any other good winter tire with good price? and how was those tires above?

I've never used any of those (nor known anyone who has). For a bit more, find some Blizzak LM22's.

Also, check out the Snow Tire sticky up above.

Well im a local guy. Surrey for life heh. I have BFG traction t/a in 215/55/16. they are basically brand new maybe 90% tread left, i thought i would be fine in the winter. As you know we got about 1ft and a bit of snow. When we had about 4-5 inches the car would barely move. Maybe it was a lack of driving skill (this is my second winter). When i went out today, it is very hard to get traction. I actually am going out tomorrow to get snows its not worth risking it. -10 to -15 with snow makes for a dangerous combo in the morning.

I have heard very good stuff about Blizzack tire series. The michelin x-ice or lattitude x-ice are also good. Had those on the 240 before i sold it

I ride on 205-60/16 on my 2K2 during the winter, so yes, they will be fine. Good choice for size IMO.
