19x9 wheels

Has anybody tried to put a 19x9 wheel on a 2002? Just wondering if it will fit.
A friend has a set with a 45 offset for cheap off his mustang. Wondering if they will fit, and if they will, does it look stupid.
Thanks

1. 19x9 will fit, but it might be tight with that offset.

2. It only looks stupid if the wheels are ugly.

It's all about offset and tire size. Could probably fit 10" with fender rolling ...

In that wheel size & offset, you should be okay, as long as your tires aren't oversized. Especially on the front, you have to watch out it doesn't rub excessively when you turn. The rears should be fine.

Thanx guys, the wheels are ssr 2-piece. I had planned on replacing the the tires with new ones. I was going to use 235/35/19. Let me know what you think?

I'd honestly go wider, with a 245/35/19, especially since the rims are 9 inches wide.

I have 8.5 inch wide rims & using 245 wide tires. But if you like a slightly stretched look to the tires than a 235 would be nice.

I'm running 19 x 8.5 38mm backspacing with a 255 wide tire and lowered approximately 1.25-1.5 inches on k-sport coilovers. I have no rubbing issues at all.
