I can't say too much since I've only owned them for a couple of days, but the Ecsta SPTs are pretty nice so far. Definately stickier than the Proxes I had on before (still liked the Proxes though). They stop great on wet roads, and I couldn't make them break away on dry road. Hopefully they will last more than a few thousand miles. The rubber is quite soft so I doubt they will give me much more than 15-20k.

Things might have played out very differently after some break-in -- especially for the Toyo, since Toyos usually take longer than most tires to break in.

2. Some tires work well in all sizes, and others don't. Some tires are available in the same speed rating in most sizes, and others are not. Different tires are better or worse on different cars (different suspension geometries, weight distributions, etc.). The tires in this test were all 225/45/17, most of them had a Y speed rating, and they were tested on 2006 BMW 325i's. If you're not looking for a 225/45/17 tire for a 325i, the rankings may not apply to you.

For a straight summer tire, with no worries of rain, etc... I'd suggest the BFG KD.
