215/50/17 or 225/45/17?? Please chime in.

Can anoyone chime in on which tire size to for. I have a 17x7 inch rim and i have a 98 max. I did the tire calculator and i am leaning towards the 215/50/17. I just wanted to know any thoughst. The only reason is that they are almost 100% correct on the odometer speed reading from factory. I dont autocross but i do take some corners kind of fast- thats why i have the 225/45/17.

Thanks in Advance.

very close speed reading and no too much tire over the rim, should fit nice

tested

225/45/17 on a 17X7.5 rim is what i have

Yeah... it also depends if you want that rubberband look. Go for the 225's.

225/45 should be SLIGHTLY better for handling (you probably wouldn't notice the difference)

It would depend on driving conditions and driving style. Go for the 215/50R17 if you have rough roads. Go with the 225/45R17 if you're a more aggressive driver. This tire calculator will let you compare the two sizes to your stock size.

Question,

Stock size for 03 Maxima SE 225/50/17 I can go to 235/45/17

Will this result in an equal ride as far as stiffness goes or will I have slower steering and harsher ride> Car to be driven by wife, not agressive at all. Used tire calculator and this is only a 2.08% diff, speedo quite close to stock as well. Will the 235's rub suspension arm?

I am wondering if I would like the additional width for my driving style when I get to use the vehicle. Lots of rain where I am and little snow although we do get it,

Feedback, not meant to hijack OP's thread, but I am wondering which way similar to him as well.
