Tire ?? for G35 coupe 17's

I have a set of G35 coupe 17's. I went to Tirerack.com today to order some tires but the guy said he couldn't sell them to me. I am getting 235/45/17 all around. The wheels are 17x7.5 up front and 17x8.5 in the rear. He told me that it came up that the rear had to be larger than the front. Is this true? I was gonna go ahead and just order them online so that I didn't have to deal with the guy.

I thought I saw a couple of guys running the coupe 17's with the same size tires all the way around.

Are you sure that they are 8.5 in the rear. My G coupe 17s are 7.5 f and 8.0 rear, and I run 225/50/17 (winter tires) on all 4.

In any case, you shoudl be ok with 235/45/17 on all four, though you might want to go 225/50/17 front and 245/45/17 rear for an even look.

Just order from www.edgeracing.com - cheaper than tirerack anyhow and they don't care what you do with the tires. You pay, they send them.

For a business to "not sell them to you" is total BS. I would take my business elsewhere.....

Yeah they are 8 in the rear. I ended up just getting them online. I wish I had thought about them being a little uneven with running the same size. They shouldn't look too bad should they?

I thought it was total BS also. Maybe they make so much money that they can turn away business.

They should look fine. I used to use those rims to autocross with 225/45/17 on both.....you really can't tell the rim width difference at all.

see the g35 wheel sticky thread at the top here....

I checked the sticky out. I see that a few run the 225/45 but I want a little more meat on the tire. Hopefully I don't rub. I'm installing Progress springs this weekend.

yeah the 225/45 was only for autocross, because I wanted a smaller diameter for acceleration....I just meant that they look fine on the wheel, not wierd on the 2 different rims.
