i've narrowed down my choices to these two tires. anyone have any experience with the two? im in the market for 225/50/17 to go on my 2k2-2k3 17" rims.

they are both summer tires which is fine for me since im down south.

im looking for a comfortable quiet ride (really important since i drive about 100 miles per day) with good handling in the rain.

i dont dont drive aggressive at all maybe a few spirited on ramp runs but thats about it.

they are both rated pretty high on tirerack and are priced the same.

any insight will be appreciated. thanks.

I have SPT and they're pretty good. Very affordable. If you're not pushing the car, it'll be fine. They're good in the rain too, but not like I try anything crazy in the rain. They're quieter than the 712's they replaced, but not as quiet as the touring Dunlop D60 A2 I've had before.

I've never had BFG's. Sorry I can't comment firsthand, but I'm sure you can find more info googling other forums.

The BFG's are the better tire by far and this is from a tire guy. Be sure to check out the Toyo T1-R they rock in all weather and grip awesome. Also drop the tire size you are getting to a 225/45/17 it will give you a little more low end torque and wont effect your top end.
