Stacking Wheels

I got a set of stock GXE wheels and 97-99 SE wheels, both with tires. Is it okay to stack them on top of each other for storage (biggest on bottom, smallest on top)without harming the sidewall on the bottom few wheels, or might it be too much weight? Feel free to advise if you know something I don't.

Thanks.

I believe that's the ideal way of storing them, although i only know of stacking 4 at a time. Then again, 8 shouldn't be a problem. Tires are made to hold a few hundred pounds of static weight, more when there's a load (e.g. when cornering), so you should be fine.

I've stacked them on their sides for years and never had a problem. What you don't want to do is create a stress concentration, like putting them in a rack where, say, a bar holds and concentrates all of the wieght of the tire. This could create a "crease" in the tire which could make it roll funny and even cause tread separation.
That being said, if the tires are of different diameters where some detail on the wheel may dig into the tire above, that would be bad.

On their sides is correct. Depending how long you keep em flip em over every 12 months or so. Also, keep em away from machinery (ozone sources), sunlight, and excessive heat to protect the tires.

Will, I've read somewhere that you should only stack wheels&tires in stacks of 4, no more.
