question about 18 x 9.5 all the way around

im looking at getting sportmax 962 rims.

they sell a package 18 x 8.5 with a 2 inch lip 35mm offset in the front

18 x 9.5 3 inch lip 35mm offset in the rear

I dont want a 2 inch lip in the front. I want to match it up with a 3 inch lip all the way around. which would mean I have to run 18 x 9.5 all the way around.

on a 5th gen is 18 x 9.5 in the front too wide? is there anyway that this could work?

dude i told you it would work. Just roll the rear fenders.

You'd have to use 225 width tires though.

you wouldn't need to roll the rear fenders running 225 .. I run 18x9.5 38offfset with 265 tires and coilovers and no rub in the back

I ran a 19x8.5 in the front , 35 offset with 235 tires and I had a good bit of space, it is possible that you wouldn't have an issue but it would be really close... you could try it with 245 rubber and a bit of camber and you would probably be alright but depends on how much you're dropped!

225 on 9.5" will look ugly. that will leave a lot of rim on both sides of the tires with nothing wrapped around it.

Check out maxboost925, he's running 215s on a 9" rim. 225s on a 9.5" would have a very similar stretch, albiet more so since 1/2" > 10mm, and because your sidewalls will be shorter.

I was thinking of using a 245/40/18 on the 18 x 9.5 rims

You will probably rub under full compression in the rear with 245s, just roll your fenders in the rear...

You should be fine in the front, I run those sizes on a fourth gen http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=537165. No rubbing under full lock, may rub under compression and full lock but it hasnt yet...I will stick out in the front about 15mm though...

Good luck finding the 962s. They were on national back order last time I checked...Only ones I have seen are crappy widths...

Edit: This is all based on a fourth gen, I think you may be fine with a 5th gen sorry

maxboost told me i would need 15mm in the front and 20mm spacers in the rear. he also said the bore on the sportmax 962 are for a 240 and wont match up to the 5th gen. I know he was running 300zx calipers so idk if i'll need those spacers that he was using

i would do some measuring. what fits to one person might not be what your looking for. maxboost is into vip styling where rims poking out a good amount is acceptable and tires are stretched to their limits, and fast1one is from the make the car fit the rims school of thought. both are very extreme. no offense you guys, both y'all are doing your thing. unless you're into that style you might want to go a lil more conservative than what those guys perfer. i'm no 5g expert but 9.5 sounds wide to me.

Hes running very stretched tires, if you plan on running more than a 225 on the wheel then your not going to want to space it that much....all nissan's have the same hub size so I don't know what he means
