Are 35 lb rims too heavy??
Are 35 lb rims too heavy??
I have a 2007 SL and i wanted to get some 18's and the ones I like are chrome but weigh 35 lbs... That seems a bit ridiculous is that too much weight ?? what I mean by that is I did not want it to take away from my ride quality and performance but I imagine this will take away A LOT !!!
But I have in the past referred to per corner meaning wheel and tire. But that's incorrect.
. My DD's weight that much.

That'd be a good weight for... oh, an 18x16" wheel. Maybe. I'm sure it'll look good to you but you'll pay the price in every respect--gas mileage, accel, braking, ride quality... and you WILL notice this. That's an extra 15lbs per corner--imagine two gallons of milk.
What're you running for track wheels?

That IS heavy...
And the worse (and most people forget) is that ROTATIONAL INERTIA is not linear to weight but to the square.
So 16" @ 25 lbs could result in better performance than 18" @ 20 Lbs, for instance.
And at 35 Lbs @ 18" radius you are definately increasing ur rotational inertia.

Thats a azz load of weight!!! What do the wheels look like, do they even have a hole drilled in them? At that much they have to be solid. LMAO
You want a light chrome wheel, then get an aluminum hollow spoke wheel. That will weigh alot less.
