low offset camber solution?

i have a set of wheels that are, to me, the perfect width/offset. the thing is i want a different style. i am using 8.5"/9.5" +35mm staggered as my base since it gives me the fitment i want. i am considering switching out for 9" +24mm offset all the way around since the new set has a lip. the rear will only extend 5mm which is no big deal. the front will extend 17mm. i am going to be installing coilovers with camber plates. do you guys think i can pull the top of the wheel in enough to make it flush? a slight pull is an option since my car is getting painted/body work right now, but i really want to do the job with camber.

Depends if you're willing to go through new tires on a regular basis..Are you planning to run narrower tires (stretched)? Most Org guys don't like that look but wheels with low disk and wide do look good with it...I'd rather pull the fenders first though...

i'll be running a mild stretch no matter which wheels i use. the car is being built for show so camber wear isn't a huge deal.

How much camber adjustment is available on the plates? Assuming you're going to run say a 215 wide tire up front and max out the camber plates the tire should tuck in but if you're trying to just get enough clearance best to test fit and measure...Oh and if you're planning to slam the thing think about modifying the fender well plastic as well as pulling the fender a little (4th gen right?) it'll rub on turns :/

Sounds like you're going Bippu style are you on VIPStyle?

yeah i'm there too. same sn. the fender liners are already out. i was going to do a vip style cefiro conversion, but the sheet metal started to add up to he price of an i30 so i decided to do a performance build on the max and buy an i30 soon for the vip style build. i think it will showcase the different posibilities of the a32.

that'll be a crapton of camber... you'll probably have less straight line traction

but it is possible..

yeah, the more i think about it the more i'm realizing that going for agressive widths/offstes and extreme camber is going away from my goal of doing a perfomance oriented build. no matter what it will be a show car, but i want it to stay true to the sport/lux theme.

To give you an idea, my setup sticks out 15mm (9.5 +35) half an inch is 12.5mm more, so about 6mm more than 9 +35 at 9 +24 your looking at 20mm of rim poke.

If you want to have the RIM flush, your looking at -4 degrees of camber (-1 degree is roughly 5mm retraction). Tire(tread) flush is a different story, all depends on stretch, for a nine inch rim with that offset I would do 225s all around and minimal camber... -2 would be good...If you want a meatier tire, your going to need a higher offset...

Tires also make a huge difference. For example KDW's are incredibly wide (a 235 looked like my 245 Kumho MX) so you might get different degrees of stretch with different tires..

True...

For a cheap tire that stretches really well and grips, look into the Federal 595s, depending on tire size for 17s your looking at around 300 mounted if you buy online The S-chassis guys love them for drifting, but apparently they hold their own in the grip world as well...
