Time for some new shoes..

Well, I got 28,500 miles out of the original Continentals and it's time to pick out some new tires for the Max.

There are soooo many freaking tire choices out there that I'm having a hard time. I haven't driven this car in the winter yet so I imagine I'll have my hands full anyway.

Any ideas on a decent all weather tire? I will be driving in snow. I'll be keeping my stock wheels for the time being, probably til next spring when I do a wheel and brake upgrade.

I did some looking at Kumhos and Pirellis on line, but really shopping for tires on line is hard. I'm looking for first hand experience.

Goodyear F1 All-Season are the best tires out right now for the money. Check some reviews.

Best out there--Bridgestone RE960A/S Pole Position, or Michelin Pilot Sport (Bridgestone will be better for the $ though).

For a cheaper alternative, check out the Toyo Proxes 4.

LOL maybe not. I got quoted $200 at my goodyear dealer for 245/45/18's but ratings wise these tires are incredible. The Michelin PS's are kickass too but very pricey as well. Checkout Riken or Nexen if you're trying to save a buck or two.

If I was trying to save a buck or two, which I always am... I'd just get the General Exclaim UHPs... especially if the car will be a DD... (...thats why I have them )

I find that you typically get what you pay for.

I really don't see any purpose in spending 200 dollars a tire on a daily driver. A complete waste of money and resources is what it is. There's plenty of satisifed Exclaim owners. Do your research... More expensive doesn't always mean better when it comes to DD tires...

Umm I've done my research thanks. And what better car than a DAILY DRIVER to spend $$ on for good tires?

My personal favorite all-season tire: Continental ContiExtremes. One of the highest rated high-performance all-seasons on tirerack, with the most miles recorded. We put them on our Audi A6, and they were incredible. Cheap, great ratings and great real-world performer.

I have the General Exclaims, but they are a summer compound, and would not recommend any summer tire for snow. Just my two cents.
