02-04 RSX wheels on 4th gen Max

I checked around but didn't find any posts on this.

The stock 02-04 RSX wheels are 16 x 6.5", +45mm offset, 5 x 114.3. I've been looking for 97-99 SE wheels (16 x 6.5", +40mm offset) but haven't been able to find any. The RSX wheels are more abundant ( example http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=516209 )

By any far chance, has someone tried this set up?

The hubcentric bore is too small.

I'll have to get some pics of the wheel from behind. I have access to a machine shop so I can bore it out ~2mm if there's enough material back there. I'm more worried about the caliper clearance without having to resort to spacers.

I highly doubt anyone else has any experience or input since no one has bothered to bore them out to put them on a 4th gen.

I actually have a set of SE 16s for sale but I'm pretty far off and it's not so much a complete set.

TL wheels would be MUCH more worth the effort.

What about altima wheels? Not exactly very cheap, but fairly easy to find and they bolt right up

They wouldn't fit with a 66.1 bore...

Seriously though I almost bored out a set of TL wheels, 17x8 +35, they would sit similar to the way Evo (centerbore 67ish) wheels do which is pushed out a bit.

16x6.5 +45 = not worth the trouble though (to remain on topic).

Whatever, not like you'd need to bore out the entire wheel anyway...

I looked at the TL wheels but I'd prefer to stick with an OEM style 15 or 16" wheel. The Max is my beater/daily driver; tires are much cheaper and the ride is more plush. I've got the Miata if I want a rough ride. This is the reason why I'm looking for 97-99 SE wheels or something similar.

Newer Altima wheels are 17s also, correct?

Plus, with 17s and stock springs, the look isn't quite right.

I agree about the look. I would think you could come up on some 5th gen 16s pretty easy, they are not a popular wheel. The 16 inch alloys that came on the Altima (option on the 2.5) actually look stock and updated. Just from a hassle point of view I would find some Nissan/Infiniti 15/16s before putting work into fitting a stock sized wheel. 240SX wheels also maintain a stock look and people GIVE those away on Zilvia.net.

Just noticed another part of your post, if you want THE softest ride do the 15s (sawblades/I30wheels) and put 215/60R15s on them. Those things felt like pillows when I had them on in between wheel changes.

I second the sawblades/BBS I30 wheels. They'll be nice and plus, plus nice and light for bettar gas mileages and accelerations.

Obviously the Maxima is going to handle like crap compared to the MSM, so why even go there? Every once in awhile I wish I could throw on some lightweight 15s just for straight line stuff...

Sawblades are ugly! The 5 spoke wheels are easy to clean, too

The polished finish I30 15s are very easy to clean.

Just throwing some options out there and I knew those would be readily availible.
