19s on a 4th gen - too big?

calling all wheel gurus - i'm in the market for new wheels, and i came across a set of 19x8.5 with an offset of +35. tire size would most likely be 245/35/19. i have a few questions about fitment before i go ahead and drop the cash. i'm currently on eibachs, so i have an approx. 1.5" drop all around. will i have problems with rubbing, or would i have to possibly roll my fenders? or are they just too damn big? oh yeah, i live/work in and around the city, so some of the roadways aren't in the best shape. any insight or advice you may have would be awesome. thanks in advance!

Your tire size needs to be 245/35/19. You should be ok with a +35 offset.

You wont have any fitment issues at all with those wheels at that offset. I've just test fitted 19s that are 8.5J +35 Front and 9.5J +32 rears with 225/35 and 235/35s with no issues and I'm dropped on S-Techs. I think if I was running a wider tire in the rear I may have to roll the rear fenders (going to anyways these are just mock up wheels) but with anything wider may need rolling. Plus remember that with the lower sidewall that you would need to run the ride is going to suffer some and you will need to be more careful driving with 19s to risk damage to the wheels or tires.

would the loss in ride quality be more of actual comfort or handling?

If you are worried about rubbing/height issues I'd get a 235/35 which is still a little bit taller than stock. A 245 is going to be wider but at the same time taller too. Its only a half an inch when it comes to the difference which comes out to be a 1/4 inch difference in height clearance/change.

Tire size calculator

Try that out ^^^^^

Lower/stiffer sidewalls are a loss in comfort but the tradeoff is better handling due to less sidewall flex/roll.

That statement is not entirely true, as it depends on the tire. I have 245-40-18's that were outmatched by 245-45-17's. It is true as a general rule, but not always.

I actually had 245's on my 4th gen, I actaully did have to roll the fenders a little bit, but also make sure your alignment is right. after all was done I had a little rubbing on my left front tire whenever it would go in a ditch, but nothing to really damage the tire or nothing you cant ignore. However the 245 width made a big difference in handling and traction, I cant wait to get them back.

sorry, I just remembered that your ride height is a 1.5" drop, mine is a bit lower, so you might not have to roll the fenders

in no wheel guru or expert im just speaking from experience.19s on a fourth gen are too big in my opinion.i had 245/35 with a 19x8 dropped on s techs.only rubbing was when wheel was to the lock or almost there.but the real problem is they put a hurting on everything else like your steering rack, brakes, engine and tranny.
