i got a an offer locally for a 2004 g35 coupe OEM wheels for 400 (wheels + tires, but 2 tires needs to be changed. is that a good deal? theyre 18's btw.
it has some few nicks and scratches but not really noticeable from a far point of view. thanks

Seems so, but w/o pictures to confirm the condition, it is hard to tell. Most people paid something in the range of 500-800 for the 18s, IIRC.

Those actually look decent. No major rash, just those little marks, but just go see them in person to find out for sure.

cool.thanks guys. thing is he has to drive down for an hour just to deliver them.hope it doesnt look worse in person than what i see on the the pics.

im thinking of getting a 235/40 for the new tires. what do you guys think?
luckily the two tires thats left are the same kind, should i put the two OLD tires up front or at the back?

also, anything special i need to do after i put those wheels on (alignment, balancing?)

im thinking goint stock on the suspension for a while. eibachs and KYB's later in the future.

guy form the service says i need to change struts. should i do that before i install the wheels?

old tires up front, new tires in the rear. 235/40 is the recommended size for 18x8. if youre just swapping wheels/tires, the original alignment settings wont be touched so no need to. The wheels should already be balanced but when you get the new tires put on, they should be balanced in part of the package of mounting/balancing. so no worries.

if you dont know if youre struts are blown, press down on the car on one side and see if it bounces up quickly as if there is no rebound dampening. then check the other side. if not, do not worry about it until you switch to your AGX/Eibach combo. then you will need an alignment because your suspension settings changed.

Youch! They dropped that rim on its face!

Dont expect to be able to touch it up. Its impossible. So makes sure you can live with the damage or be willing to refinish them.

i tried pushing one side of the car and i cant really tell if somethings wrong with the struts. thing is i cant even push half way down. but once i push, it goes back up instantly.

i just called him and said that scratches is because of the guys who took off the rims and put it in his car face to face. bad new is someones coming over to look at the wheels tonight. told me if the guy doesnt show up hell give me a call.

once more thing, the 2 good tires are 245/40.
what now? is that ok to pair up with 2 235/40??

I'd personally go with 245/40 all around. I have 235/40s now and it isn't quite enough tire for me.

I've seen better deals. I dont think that's good at all consider you have to get a pair of new tires and the chippings. Unless you are going to strip the paint off and redo them or simply don't care about the chips, and you can find some cheap but good used 18" tires, then I would say go for it. Just keep looking is my advice. There are tons of other G wheelsets for sale in better condition if you check around.

Do 18s look ok on a 3rd gen? I'd think they'd be a little bit big...
