Question about Transmission and Wrong sized tired

So some of you may know that I have 350z wheels on my car along with Z tires. They are staggered.

So I am an auto and since I put the tires on my car's transmission has been acting funny. It seems that it is shifting early, and basically not when its supposed to. I talked to a friend at work and he was telling me that it is due to the fact the the tires are bigger. Is this true? I was leaning towards it was due to the weight of the wheels, which are 50lbs with tires....

So what do you guys say?

The only thing that would change would be your overall final ratio (revs/mile). 50lbs is not that bad, most wheel combos that arn't lightweight specific tend to be anywhere from 45-55lbs. The stress on your axles from being low is a much more tangible difference than the weight of the wheels.

Does it downshift/hunt for gears alot?

But I have been lowered ever since Aug last year. No problems.

No it doesn't hunt for gears.

Say if I am driving down a street. Its basically would shift before it needs to. So I have no power when I am in the next gear.

If that makes any sense.
I ordered tires as of a few days ago, so we shall see if that fixes the problem.
