Staggered Rims question...

I was recently under my car installing a RSB.

I was looking at my wheels (35th Anniversary Edition 350Z wheels) which are staggered for those who don't know. They are 18x8 @ +30 in Front and 18x8.5 @ +33 in the rear.

Now I went to Firestone to get my Toyo Proxies installed and they changed the wheel setup around on me, 18x8 @ +30 on the right sides, and 18x8.5 @ +33 on the left. I can't just change them around because they are directional tires.

What should I do? Should I go back and complain? It has been about 2 months. I have been busy with my internship and haven't had a chance to work on the car for a while...

i would go back and ***** them out for not knowing that they were staggered, they're supposed to be professionals... damn firestone.

I totally agree. Tell them that they've messed up, have taken made you taken time out of your schedule and remind them that "time is money". Ask for some incentive to convince you it isn't the last time you have work done there.

Yeah, they screwed up big time. Do not walk out of there until they've at least fixed it at no cost, extra incentive preferred.

How would you ask for an incentive...

How they mess that up? Is it because you bought a set of four same size tires? Show them the receipt and make them change it. Complain to the manager or owner.

I would just go back and let them know the wheels are staggered and tell them that these go to the back, those go to front.you paid already, so dont think you should be charged again.

I'd go back and complain, but odds are they wont do crap, and if they do, they'll charge you for it because 2 months. Come on, I barely remember what I did yesterday, much less a tire shop remember a job that happened 2 months ago.

Another reason to get the same size all around, like myself and Mr !Prj up there.

SIMPLEST ANSWER. take it back. bring reciept of purchase/labor. always check once the labor is done just to make sure things were done right no matter what job it is. youre paying for it.

What size tires did you put on? Was thinking about purchasing them myself ans I was thinking about going 235/45/18. Aside from the mix up at Firestone, are you pleased with them so far?

For a 4th gen? 235/40/18 or 245/40/18.

Id go back and complain, they ****ed up, they should notice this **** before the touch the rims. Also i mount/balance a lot of tires, and i keep the rims seperated. fronts stay n the fronts, rears stay on the rears. They probably got lazy and mounted 2 tires, then just mounted the following so they'd all be pointing in the right direction. Could be a coincidence that they ended up on the same side.

18's best size would be 235/40/18 as Morpheus stated.

Thanks for the replies. I'll go with 235/40/18 instead.

Honeslty, its kinda your fault. Unless you told them specifically where to mount where on what then its technically not their fault. They saw that they were Nissan wheels, they only assumed they were identical wheels.

Im a Nissan Tech and i find myself reminding guys not to rotate Z wheels and such. Not everyone knows they're staggard. So unless you specifically told them they were staggard and/or you want certain tires installed on certain rims then its not their fault. I am telling you this from a shop's point of view because if it was my shop i'd say the same thing.

However you might be able to work something out with them, maybe they can dismount and remount them and all that junk for free or for a discount but incentives? Please... i don't think so bro. Don't mean to sound like a **** or anything but c'mon were these guys suppose to know you put OEM wheels from a different car on there? Nooo.
