Will 275s on 18x8.5 +32 offset stick out of front fenders?

Will 275s on 18x8.5 +32 offset stick out of front fenders?

I know that the 275s are wide for this wheel, but I'd like to run them anyway assuming they won't stick out from the front fenders. I'm not opposed to rolling my fenders, but I remember seeing 275s on mardigras's 17x8s sticking out from the front fenders such that even rolling the fenders wouldn't help.

Mardigras 17x8s had a +45 (or +49) offset: http://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-t...ml#post1889637

(Note: Mardigras was dropped on eibachs, so he didn't rub--but I plan on being lower.)

on the 5gens the front fender is rolled from the factory, and I would assume its the same on your gen aswell. That really too wide of a tire for that rim. 255 is the max I would put on a 8.5 rim Maaaaaybe 265 but that really pushing it.

When I had 255s on mardigras' 17x8s, they rubbed the fenders ever so slightly when the suspension bottomed--this makes me think that they were hitting the tabs on the fender well, which I hoped could be rolled. (I guess they could alternatively be trimmed.)

If I could find 265x18 drag radials, I'd rock them. But I'm primarily interest in BFGs or Nitto 555rs, neither of which come in that size. The Nittos are 285 and the BFGs are 275.

M&T has some in 245, but I was hoping for wider tires than that.

Maybe I'll just get some 265/35 r888s instead of drag radials...

If the 255s on 17x8s with a +45 (or 49) offset rubbed the fender, would 265s on 18x8.5s with a +32 offset be likely to rub?

17x9 +34 with 275/40/17s

I raced this setup with 255/40/17s and it did not rub, I did not race the car with the 275s on. The 255s stuck out but did not rub.

Thanks for the pictures--how much of a drop do you have in them? It looks like I'm going to be SOL running anything wider than 245 as low as I want to be. I was hoping to have tires narrow enough to tuck up in the fender wells upon full compression; but if your 255s stick out, that wouldn't be possible.

Even 245s may not tuck in it seems. So the options seem to be:

1) See if 245s will tuck--which is unlikely. If they do, I'd consider getting the 245/40 M/T ET Street Drag Radials.

2) Raise the car up and run:
(a) Nitto 555r 285/35 (which most people would consider too wide)
(b) BFG 275/35 Drag Radials (which most would also consider too wide)
(c) Toyo r888 265/35 (which are hella expensive)
(d) keep the 245/40 t1rs that are currently mounted

The reason I'm looking for different tires is because I'll get too much wheelspin with the t1rs during straightline acceleration. Any thoughts on the choices?

Your setup has 4mm less poke than mine to start with. My car is on S-techs so the drop is over 2". Here is a low res shot of the 255s

I would go with the 245 ET streets They are a good size for your wheels and should hook hard.
You don't want something like the R888, my 200whp Z can spin 275 roadrace tires, they won't hook like a drag radial.

Thanks for all the good info. MTs sound like a good bet! I hope they don't hurt me too much in the handling department.

An 8.5 is an additional inch--275 is an additional 30 millimeters. Since there are 25.4 millimeters in an inch, I'd only be "pushing it" 4.6 mms more.
