Correct lugs nuts steel vs stock alloys

Just wanted to make sure my vehicle was safe. I had stock steel wheels on a 97 Maxima. Was able to buy a set of factory alloys for it cheap, and had Walmart do the mount and balance.

The shop foreman was concerned about putting the beveled lug nuts off the steel wheels on the factory alloys. So I went to a local Nissan dealership. They showed me the factory lug nuts used with the alloy; they are also beveled, but have a shoulder on them with a rubber/plastic washer that seats against the face of the alloy as well.

But the Nissan parts guy (even though he could have sold me a set at $4 each) assured me that the steel wheel nuts would work fine with the alloys since the beveled part of the nut was where all the pressure was.

Thought I should check with you folks here since my son is driving the Maxima daily.

Thanks in advence!

never had a problem with them. the lug nuts for stock 3 gen alloy wheels are just a regular tapered seat steel lug nut.
