Another "ZOMG WILL IT FIT?!" thread...

Ok, so one potential candidate for teh new shooz have the following specs:

18x8.5 w/ 45mm offset, which, to the best of my abilities, has been shown to provide no clearance issues. I might be wrong.

Now, I am looking to pair these with a set of tires at 225/60 R18.

So my questions are: will the wheel fit? and will these tires fit?

225 seems REALLY skinny for an 8.5" wide wheel.

NOTE: I'm not looking to have a ghetto fab stretch/low profile look. I drive A LOT and need the tires to perform more than anything else.

Good call on the tire, thanks for the heads up.

235/40/18 or 245/40/18.

With that weak of an offset, you will need to consider your brakes too, if you have an aftermarket brake kit. The spoke pattern will also affect how much clearance you have.

Goddamit, shopping was supposed to be fun.

I was sold on the Enkei's until I can across the Stern ST-1s...they look agressive as hell and are the first set of wheels that have really caught my interest.

Stock brakes, you still think there would be clearance issues?

Judging by the spoke pattern, they look like they'll clear even the 6th Gen brakes. Is there no better offset option? Well, if necessary, it isn't anything that some spacers can't fit.

They look kinda heavy though... a bit different from your previous thread on light 17s.

They are about 26lbs, IIRC. I like the Enkei's, but they are bit "vanilla" compared to these. For the sake of my wallet, though, I'm likley to just go with the RPF1s.

Metal, I wouldn't rush with your wheel selection. I think I said "these are my next wheels" half a dozen times within 8 months before I chose the Rays. I was actually considering the exact Sterns you mentioned until I realized how damn heavy they were for 18". I think we could better help you with your wheel choice if you state what you're looking for in a wheel(i.e. aesthetics, weight, strength). For an 8.5" tire, I'd go 245/40/18. Also, are you dropped? The sidewall on my Rays are pretty much flush and their 8.5" on a 245 series tire.

I believe an optimal set up would be an 18x8.5" ET38 or 35 w/ a 245/40/18 all-season.

how about 17x8 ET37 with 235/45/17?

do they sit a little tucked in, yet wide enough to make a difference? 4th gen and 5th gen?

IIRC the 5th gen car has even more room
