painting rims question, painters step in
Yes I searched first but no clear answer! I dont have any experience with painting rims so this will basically be my first attempt. So I have been contemplating on painting my winter set of rims. They are chrome (chrome dipped actually), and its flaking off pretty badly on more than one rim. So some questions..
1. Could all the chrome be removed easily by means of sand blasting and sand paper of various grits?
2. After that the steps would include a few coats of primer, followed by coats of paint, followed by clearcoat? And i know thats vague, theres small steps and details in between obviously.
3. Do you think this is too much for a beginner painter to handle?
Thanks in advance

Other than that, I am not a pro painter like Specd_out but I have painted a bunch of crap over the years. The best advice I can give you is to do a bunch of super light coats with the paint, primer and clear, it'll help build strength especially if your doing wheels. Doing it this way requires way more patience because the process takes a lot longer. But its worth it.
