need to get new wheels

need to get new wheels

so my max went in today to get the tires rotated n allignment done. they said 2 of my rims where bent or messed up. so i need new rims. so while i need some new ones im thinkin of 18s or 19s. if i get 225/40 or 235/40 or somethin else will my speedometer be fine? what else do i have to worry about?

Sorry to hear about your rims bro. Rubbing is an issue but probably not with 235s. If you use a tire calculator like the one at http://1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp it should be easy enough to determine whether or not your speedo will be the same. All you do is plug in the size of the stock tires that came with your car (can be found in the driver's door jamb) and then plug in the size of tires you are thinking about buying. It will give you lots of useful information about the two sizes but I would recommend paying the most attention to the overall diameter and the actual speed readings, if this is your main concern.

For instance: Mine came stock with 225/55/R17 I plugged in that and 245/45/18 and learned that the overall diameter is within 2 millimeters and the actual speed is within one tenth of a mph.
