Offset/Spacer size question

I have a 99 I30 with an 18x8 +42 wheel wrapped in 235/40's. Dropped on coilovers. I bought a set of 25mm and 15mm spacers trying to achieve the flush look but that totally failed. I never installed the fronts just the rears. It looked pretty good with a slight poke but the rub I had would chew my tires up. Even rolling the fenders didnt help. Ive since removed the spacers and slammed the car. Stance is lovely but the bit of fender well lining thats visible is bugging me. What size spacers should I run without rubbing on the sidewall? I rub up top over bumps/dips but nothing serious; just typical of being so low. I want to space it enough to where I can still ride people in the car without it rubbing. Fenders are rolled.

Heres a pic of my car. This is a pic taken at a meet just last night and is the only pic I have. The rear wheel shows it all.

I appreciate the input.

wait until its time to get some new tires and stretch it

i'm guessing 215/40 or 205/40 on that size wheel to obtain a good stretch, then throw the spacers back on.

I don't want to stretch because it'll increase my wheel gap and also the roads here in LA have deep potholes. Would be a nightmare....

with the 25mm spacer outback you're running an effective +17 offset in the rear...you cant pull that off without a stretch. run the 15mm spacer out back and see what it does, thats just a +27 offset and that should do you good enough

That was my plan originally...to go with a 225/40 tire. But the shop still mounted the 235's and my rear spacers. Looked good with a slight poke. Since then Ive removed the spacer and slammed it.

Ill try the 15mm spacer in the rear and see how that goes. The 15mm spacers arent the bolt on type like the 25mm are. They do come with extended studs. Do I just hammer out the old studs, replace with extended studs, and slap the spacer on? The extra holes are kinda throwing me off (first time using spacers).

the extra holes on the spacers are there because they're universal and can be used with differnt lug patterns....i was running a 18x8.5 33+ offset on my 01 i30 with a 275/40 and it rubbed over big bumps...am not on coilovers and have unrolled fenders btw....but yea 33+ was pretty flush with 8.5wide rim[i could pm u some fitment pics if u want, lmk]

i think if ur tryin to go with a poke you're gonna have to stretch to avoid rubbing...for now try the 15mm in the back since u already have it[yes u do hammer the old studs out n replace with extended studs and slap the spacer on]....there's actually offset calculators for perfect fitment in the wheel section, use it to ur advantage instead of doing trial and error with different size spacers...am pretty sure 27+ will still rub for u but i could be wrong...if it does use da offset calculator or just try 10mm spacers

EDIT: here you go....this one's pretty simple and easy to understand ...
and make sure you look at this too...pretty much all u need to know what's needed to be flush...gud luck

I did use the offset calc at first which is why I originally decided to go with a final offset of +17. They mounted the wrong tires but I decided to keep them because they looked good. I didnt factor in being slammed though...thats where my calculations were off. Ill try out the 15's in the rear and see if I rub. If so then Im downsizing to 10r 5f
