looking at 19x8 rims (Help)

Thought I did my research, but I have had this discussion with more than 1 person.
Curious to know Maxima people's comments. I noticed an ad for some rims and emailed the guy. Here are the emails from him to me and so forth. I have a 1996 Maxima.

What do you guys think? Reads from bottom UP
here is the link http://tucson.craigslist.org/pts/2086208773.html

From Him:
I can promise you if you get the +35 everytime you hit a dip in the road
youll hear the tire rub on the back fenders.... and if you have people in the
backseat, its even worse. You cant even properly lower the car without
worrying about the rub.
Good wheel manufacturers make the proper offset like +40 or more so the
wheels can fit more correctly under your fender. OE offset is around +45mm
and thats what Nissan puts on the car from the factory. Thats a good lead to
follow if you dont believe me. Esp when you are going up to 19s
Good luck.

From Him:

you must know more then me, Ive been selling custom rims and tires
since the 80s. Its not about how it looks, its about the tire to fender
clearance. You can do it the way everyone on the forums does it
or you can also do it better.... your choice.

From: Me

It's been done a 100 times on the maxima forums. Looks good to me

+35 isnt enough its going to rub on the fenders..
esp with an 8" wheel...
but good luck

This guy is such a noob (not you OP). With a 8" wide wheel, you have a long way to go before you have to worry about rubbing. Up front, around +26 offset will be flush and out back, around +17 will be flush.

+45 is terrible for 8" wide wheels on these cars, even though they're 19's and look like pretty nice rims. You can do better just keep looking around.

BTW, are you dropped?

It's when you start crossing into the 8.5-9.5" wide area that you have to watch your offsets.
