225/45/18 vs/ 235/45/18?

Hey fellow 'orgers,

I just ordered these wheels for my 5th gen:

Name: MRRGT7rs.jpg
Views: 2597
Size: 38.1 KB

I ordered some Hankook Ventus V4ES's to wrap them in, and noticed they ordered me 225/45/18's

The "recommended size" for these rims is either that or 235/45/18. Now I'm being told through the grapevine that the 225's will be a bit thin for that rim (which is 18x8.5 and I believe it's a 38 offset). I definitely don't want a stretched look on my tires.

Looking for opinions, and also curious to know what is the width/height of one vs the other.

i would say go with the 235/45/18, i have 225's on my G35 wheels in the front and they seem a little too thin and narrow

That's what I was figuring. You have any pics of them by any chance?

Sorry, I meant that the 225's are gonna be a stretch but not anything extreme:

235's should be fine.
