Kumho Ecsta 4X - Review

Just had a set mounted and balanced. Right out of the parking lot I can feel the difference. They're very quite, like really quiet. Center line tracking is great, doesn't follow the crown much. Steering response, even new and not broken in plus the deeper new tire tread squirm feels tight. The first curve I took put a smile on my face. The highway ride is very smooth and very quiet, like really quiet right up over 80 mph. This is very nice Ultra High Performance All Season Tire! The reviews on TireRack are right on the money.

These replaced a set of Goodyear Comfortreads that I hated from the day I put them on. I got my Maxima ride and handling back once again.

Do you how these would compare in incliment weather conditions to tires such as the Continental ExtremeContact DWS?

The DWS is right up there with the Ecsta 4X, some say the sidewall of the DWS was to soft. I think the Ecsta 4X did slightly better.

Go to Tire Rack's web site and compare the two. If you Google the Kumho and read some of the forums that come up, most do compare the two tires.

Just got them to replace the 960 AS Bridgestones....the older the car gets, the less I want to spend. Actually, 3 years ago, the Bridgestones were only $90 each. I think I last saw them at Costco for $130! What can I say, the Kuhmos don't really compare to the Pilot Super Sports on my other car LOL
