Need to Buy Tires Today!! Please Help!!!

i need new tires. right now, i have 225/55/17 on the stock g35 rims and they rub on hard turns. suspension- kyb agx h&r springs

what tires should i get? i honestly don't need anything performance wise. all seasons are fine enough for me. please keep in mind that i'm an unemployed student so money is very tight :/ i do not want to purchase used tires. i commute almost 70 miles a day, 4 days a week.

what size would you guys recommend so that my tires don't rub?

i really need to buy tires today!!

you can do 225/50/17 if you want...that *might* help with the rubbing.

How much do you want to spend? You can get a set of Michelin Defender all seasons for about 100 a tire at Costco iirc (that's what we put on my wife's Outback...a decent allseason tire) or you can spend 150 or more a tire and get Conti ExtremeContact DWS

Thanks! I was thinking maybe 225/45/17. As little as possible I don't have a job right now. I saw a set that had 225/45/17XL. What does that mean?

Go to your local tire joint and ask them what they have in the back./ A lot of people get rid of fairly good tires.

Might work til you save up for a decent set.

Achilles ATR Sport. Quality of a high performance tire but at a cheap price. I had them in my Maxima; they're very meaty and have a excellent grip. They were also good on the rain. I am planning to buy a set on my Celica ($75 per tire for my Celica).

How many miles did they last you? I don't need anything performance wise. Just want all season tires that will last me a long time given i drive like a normal human being.

I think I might shop around at Costco. How much of a difference are 50's vs 45's?

well, the 50 and 45 are perentages of the tire width. So if you have a 225/50, that means that 112.5mm is the sidewall. If you have a 225/45, then 101.25 mm is the sidewall. A difference in sidewall of 11.25 mm...which is under half an inch.

If you're talking differences in PRICE...look 'em up yourself

They are half winter tires and half all seasons. ****ty mileage but u will never have to switch to snows ever again. for op this would not be an option cause of his long commute. But these are the only korean tires i would ever think about owning.
