Looky nice...

Very classy. They don't stick out like aftermarket wheels but to any of us Maxima drivers it is a big change. BTW red/clear tails look great too!

The wheels look great on the Max! Did you get a chance to weigh a wheel prior to installation?

Unfortunately for 95-96 models, the only viable option is to buy APC clear tails and paint the red part. I got mine from DavidL for $160 last summer--don't know if he still buys and paints them. Check out the Group Deal forum for that ungodly long thread (10,000 posts and counting!!!)

NO. Just the rims alone, I think they are just over 21lbs a piece (don't quote me though--me memory stinketh).

At first I thought they only looked OK, but I like 'em more and more! I think they look much better in person than in pics. Certainly much better than stock '95SE rims. Still, the new '02 Max rims might be a smidge better...(if you are into OEM).

very nice, Mishmosh, how's the ride w/ the 17"'s and did you make any mods to the suspension to fit those rims?

Imagine how those '02 Altima 3.5SE rims would look on my White '98 MaxSE

Thanks all.

Nothing needs to be altered. The bolt pattern is the same and the offset is fine. If you have a stock suspension, the wheelgap may make the larger rims look funny though... And hate to say it, but EVERYTHING looks better on a black car!

Heheh, I started that thread. It's still going on but the GD isn't, because one guy hasn't received his tails yet. I managed to get everyone to stop PW the thread, but ocassionally we still get a post or two to bump it up.

Hopefully the last guy will get it soon so I can delete that thread. Too long

And it's only 920+ last time I checked.

nice man...i ordered 00 max rims and i know they'll look hot on max cause i've seen them in real life on this black max on rt 22...looked so hot...takes up more space and makes car look a little dropped but so does yours....did you drop your max? or does the space taken my wheel and tire take up that space....dam, didn't know altima rims would look that hot on the max....

Putting on larger rims does not reduce wheel gap due to the fact that lower profile tires are used. No matter what size rim you get, the overall circumference of the tire should be the same.
Face it, you cant get the dropped look without paying for it, or cutting your stock springs, which is extremely stupid.
The "taking up more space" is an illusion.

that's tru and false at the same time...

see, my stock rims are 15" and have the nice thick tires while my aftermarket rims are 18" but have low profile so they look just about same in size from ground and have like same gap but the stock maxima and altima late modeled rims are bigger than my stock (they are 17") and also have the nice thick tires so they would actually lessen the wheel gap than MY stock rims...we can easily prove this if Mishmosh would tell us if the car was dropped or not cause it's same generation as mine and has away less wheel gap than my car....

Arrafio is right. If you maintain overall tire/rim diameter (like you should) it doesn't matter what rim diameter you go with... wheel gap pretty much is the same. I think with the larger diameter wheels, the wheelgap looks more conspicuous even though it hasn't changed from stock.

That being said, I have H&R/KONI (as listed in my sig). I like this combo although the two max's I have seen with H&R/Tokiko seemed to have slightly lower (but noticeable) drop than me. Don't know why... Although not cheap, getting new springs/shocks is one of the best handling mods out there (yes, better than FSTB and RSB) and it looks so much better too.

Mecc, the 225/50R17 tires you will be getting makes the overall diameter slightly larger than stock, so wheelgap may be smaller by a hair but it is still there big time...

This may reduce wheel gap by a hair, but it is going to screw up your speedometer reading due to the different overall circumference. Do a search, you can find a chart that tells you what tires will give you the same circumference with difference size rims.
