Need help !!!

I took off and cleaned my Throttle body and IAC Valve. When i put it back together i can only get it to 2000 RPMS in each gear and it wont go any higher. I have my petal to the floor and no response. Plus it sounds like its leaking air from somewhere. I need help PLEASE !!!

Did you use a new gasket? and did you use proper tightening sequence? Not that it really matters but Sounds like you got a leak some where. Check and Make sure you plugged in the 3 plugs on the iacv. I bet its a simple fix.

Another thing to look for is vacuum lines. You might have disconnected one or even broke an already weakened one. What did you clean the TB with?
Did you allow it to dry?

I am with lux97...bet it is something simple that a few minutes away will help you see.

something wasn't connected/adjusted properly when you put it back together, try to re-trace your steps and see if maybe you left a hose off or didn't tighten down the throttle body tight enough.

Now why did you go and do that? Of course that matters. Reset it per the FSM in my signature.

Did you monkey with the MAF at all?

I took everything off and put it back together and made sure all the hoses are on correctly but its still doing the same thing. It wont go rev past 2000 RPMs. The guy at Orileys said that i might be getting too much air. Is this possible ? I really need help !!!

I find it strikingly ignorant that you can tell a new registered user, that obviously doesn't know much about the 4G maxima, to search yet you (member since 06)

post a thread (https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...ths-p0300.html) questioning how to

handle a simple egr code which we all know has been thoroughly discussed over and over again.

0406 is not a common code, i've never seen that or seen it discussed in these boards. what i found out ( through searching on the interwebs ) is that it's egr related but that it could be a multitude of problems and my thread was started in the hopes that someone had or has had the same code and might have an answer to my problem. i didn't just start a thread that simply say's, " need help ", i was emphasizing the fact that he should search my reply a little and not just sit around waiting for a answer which i hope he's done even though i supplied a link to help him anyway.
