My 01 Maxima Se Is Having Rattling Noises.
The last couple weeks its been rattling. The strange thing about it is that it only rattles when I start it, and accellerate in the 1st 2 or so mins. Then after driving about 10 mins. It goes away. FYI, I put in reg gas......don't know if that's the problem or not. Any suggestions?

Its coming from the engine if I'm not mistaking. I just hear it when I accelerate in the hood. Its prob the engine. If I switch from reg to a higher level of gas......does the rattling automatically stop? Or it takes a while. If it is the problem. I can't get more specific then that. I'm not really into cars like that yet.

All you're saving is 3 or 4 bucks a tankful.
Rattling noise or not, you're better off burning, premium gas.
That's what your car's made for.
I'd start there to see if the rattle goes away, also you may want to look at putting in motor oil additive, at your next oil change.
That's if you think it's coming from the engine.
If not take all loose change, CD's everything out of ash trays, center console glove box, everywhere in side your car and the trunk.
Under the hood make sure there's nothing loose
and then if the rattles still there, drive in a quiet lonely parking lot with windows down and see if you can pinpoint it.
If this doesn't work then have a friend stand in the parking lot and drive slowly to the left of him and then to the right.
Just pay attention, otherwise you don't want to knock his a$$ over.
Hopefully that may work.
I had something similar happen to me long time a go, it was a rock stuck behind my front brake rotor and the dust cover, go figure.
My mechanic had to put the car in the air, and in drive, to pin point it.
Anyway, best of luck

Are u overdue on your oil change?
Stop putting in regular gas, Nissan recommends premium for a reason. I didn't have any rattles, but it ran noticiably smoother on premium as soon as i first started putting it in (8 months ago).
