Update on the fuel filter change.

So it has been now about 2 months since i changed the fuel filter after almost 100k miles. I have originally posted a 2mpg improvement but during the past few weeks, gas milege has been improving even more. After driving 270 miles on 15 gallons almost all in city; that comes to about 18 mpg. Before the fuel filter change i was getting very low numbers close to 14-15 mpg in city. So for those who are putting this off and have a high milege car, try it, you will see am improvement in your gas milege.

I did this to my car about 10k miles ago...I didn't see any improvements in MPG...although my filter was very brownish in color....it didn't look extremely dirty...but enough to justify a replacement....It's not that hard to replace on the vq35 setup...I would say go for it and people stop bi+chin about changing it....however for the vq30, I know their setup is a little different...according to that one guy's write up (spirills)...so it might be a little harder

It wasn't too hard on my '00, but it is time consuming. The hardest part for me was getting the plastic hose fittings off of the unit.

Ah, there is a trick to that too You can totaly destroy that hose, i.e. cut it so it comes off the unit - a new one comes with the filter
