Oooh beefy deep exhaust note vid, and possible combo

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UcXgOVbkw-0

This. This what I desire my exhaust to sound like. Seems as if hes on stock 2.25 piping. Im so damn impressed. Seriously.
The startup. Oooh. It even kinda reminds me of my srt4.

I'd like to go 2.5 inch, to mate with my obx headers and y pipe in my living room hah.

Does this Asian 2.5 inch seem like a solid starting point? http://m.ebay.com/itm/271413214759
I'd chop the fart can and weld on a 40 series flowmaster, curious if I'd want offset or center placement for the inlet.

Do you think this would sound significantly different fron his setup, due to the aftermarket/shltty resonator?
thanks guys

A massive resonator would be ideal ,but maybe you'll be the first with this set up ..

Wonder what his set up is for it to be that loud. Maybe resonator removed and the Flowmaster? Sounds good though, I do like it. I'd prefer a magnaflow, tone is much cleaner. Dronemasters (flowmasters) notorious for rasp.

And to answer your question, your exhaust would sound much different if you're planning on running the OBX headers and y pipe.

See, I like the way this sounds, but I actually believe it to be a tiny bit more raspy, more "Ricey," if you will : 02 Maxima-magnaflow exhaust / delete res: http://youtu.be/TReV6Xy5YyI but he even mentions in the comments that the flowmaster makes the vq35 sound like a v8. Thats what ive noticed as well, and it seems like a good thing hah.

somebody needs to comment on his youtube vid and ask what exactly he did! Its a recent video, he should respond... I just dont have a channel and therefore can't comment hah. Fvck might be worth makin one I suppose. I desire this exact exhaust badly. Ahah

I just read the comments. His setup is resonator delete with straight pipe in place, along with the Magnaflow muffler. Nothing too big, that's actually what I plan on getting soon. Just not that muffler. Oh, he said it was offset/center.

whoops, I worded my last post poorly. I saw what magnaflow mans setup was, I linked it cause it was what you described.
my drooling, and curiosity in my previous post was alllll still about the flowmaster guys setup. His is a bit more mysterious. And needs a comment on YouTube to get some Damn clarification! hah

Sure you could definitely do that. It might make more sense to do something along the lines of what I'm considering in post #1 though. Or delete your cat. Or somethin.. if you truly want a crazy exhaust note change.

The outlet on my y pipe is around 2 and 1/4. Hella weak.
With that in mind, In your opinion, is it really worth necking out to 3 after the y for the catback?

anddd. .
Monceff is sellin stainless 3 inchers?? Do you know how much off the top of your head? I don't wanna waste his time with a pointless "quote" request if its out of my range hah.

Sounds like a stock Mustang or something, not a fan of that sound. That sound is very non JDM like, at all.

I'm not sure what mine is but I know it's not 3" (y-pipe exit). And yes I think it's worth it.

Well the 3" would certainly help if u make 250+hp, anything less and the 2.5" is perfect.

"Very non jdm" exactly! I guess I don't wanna sound jdm, I'd rather sound... v6-y.. like a v6 that can breathe..
Idk, I just love this sound. And George, you're crazy. Nothin raspy about it to my ears

I can understand that, to each their own...That sound is definitely not very common in the Maxima world so def would stand out..

I think the setup you want produces less true engine sound and is more about exhaust design that makes it gurgle...whereas some other systems really let you hear the VQ beautifully and clearly.

Still, I,think both sound good. The setup you want is def. not ricey at all so either way you'll end up with a decent choice.

Yup, the stock system is good up to 247 whp, as is the stock airbox.

$880.00 shipped.

On my 3.0 I made 240whp with a 2.5" exhaust, and I made 250whp with a 3" exhaust. It is a worthwhile mod even moreso on your guys 3.5L.
