hi forum so recently i been having a issue where i start up the car and it just shuts back off and i have to start up again sometimes i get the car to go on and when i shift into drive or reverse it shuts off also i ran the codes and these are the codes i have currently p0100 ,p0174,p0430,p0171 any suggestions??

ok cool thanks alot will do i also noticed when i rev the car and it reaches the number 2 its starts to like putt putt and jerks if i do 50 mph it seems fine but if i push to go higher it will jerk back and forth

Was the check engine light on for awhile? That's a lot of codes! A buddy of mine taught me a quick way to check for vacuum leaks. When the engine is running spray a little starting fluid around the vacuum areas if it revs you have a leak.

yea the engine light been on for a while yea man all those codes im going to def try to see if i can find the leak do you know how much something like that would cost to fix by any chance ?

The P0100 is the MAF sensor. You can try cleaning it with some MAF cleaner but you will probably have to replace it.

The P0171 and P0174 are bank 1 and bank 2 running lean. Caused by bad MAF. Replace MAF and these will go away.

P0430 is the pre cat for bank 2. This may or may not be bad. Get MAF replaced and see if this goes away or not.

ok cool i havent cleaned out the maf yet its been raining here im gonna try today but i did have a person look at it and he told me i had to replace the maf meter the round piece with the mesh and that its not that sensor does that sound right ? i was wondering becuase i know theres nothing inside the meter could it just be like super blocked up with dirt and there just trying to get me for some $$$ to do the labor?

its usually a whole assembly, the round tube with the mesh inside and the sensor ontop
