Both heated seats use the same 10 amp fuse. It is fuse # 9.

Fuse # 9 is in the in-dash fuse block, located to the left of the steering column. When you look at the fuses, fuse # 9 is in the top row. the 9th fuse from the left end.

If you have the fuse location decal on the inside of the fuse cover, fuse # 9 is labeled "SEAT HEATER".

What if the passenger seat is not working but the driver seat does? Neither switch glows orange though.

Because the driver's seat does heat, this says the fuse is good

The light is independent from the actual heating of the seat. Since power is getting to the switch and the seat does heat, you have a burned out light bulb in the switch. You have to replace the switch for this.

On the passenger seat, some testing needs to be done. You will need a voltmeter or a test light in order to test this. The ignition switch has to be on for these tests.

1) Is power from the fuse getting to the switch? Pop out the switch and test for 12 volts on the green/red stripe wire. If no, then you have a broken wire somewhere. If yes, the light bulb is burned out.

2) Put the switch in low heat position. Test for 12 volts on the gray/blue stripe wire. If no, you have a bad switch. If yes, you have either a broken wire going to the seat, or the seat is unplugged or one or both of the heating pads in the seat is/are bad.

Did the seats heat up after you changed the fuse?

Are you sure the fuse didn't blow again? Swap the fuse with another one because sometimes a fuse can appear to be good to the eye, but it isn't.

If the fuse is bad/blown, one of the seat heating pads is drawing too much power. If you have only been using one seat, like the drivers seat, then you know which one. Check under the seat to see if any wires are catching or rubbing on some metal part.

If you are sure the fuse is good and not blowing out, then you need to get a test light or a voltmeter and start checking things.

As I posted for the other guy, pop out the switches and check for 12 volts from the fuse.

Have the ignition key turned to the ON position. It is the same color wire for both seat switches, green with a red stripe wire.

If you have 12 volts there, turn the switch to the low heat position and see if you have 12 volts on the solid gray wire on the driver seat switch, the gray with blue stripe on the passenger seat switch.

if you have 12 volts coming out of the switch, then you have either a wiring problem or a bad heating pad. Another remote possibility is that the seats are not grounded to the car chassis.

Ok so that fuse i thought was good wasn't it blew yesterday so i bought another fuse today and plugged it in and it blew instantly....so that means i have a bad ground right? How do i find the short

Bad ground is not your problem. The fact that you are blowing the fuse means that you have an excellent ground. But enough of technicalities.

First you need to find out what is causing the fuse to blow. You will need a bunch of fuses to do this. You need to figure out which seat has the problem. Start by unplugging the wires that go to the switches (both switches) in the console for the seat heaters. Put in a new fuse, turn the ignition switch ON and see if the fuse blows. If the fuse blows, you have a wiring problem between the fuse and the switch.

Assuming the fuse didn't blow, turn the ignition switch off and plug in one of the seat switches. Make sure that the seat switch is in the off position. Turn on the ignition switch and check the fuse. If the fuse blows, you have a bad switch. If the fuse doesn't blow, flip the switch to low heat and check the fuse. If the fuse is OK, flip the switch to high heat and check the fuse. If the fuse did blow, then one of the heating pads in the seat is bad. If the fuse still hasn't blown, that seat is OK and repeat this process for the other seat.
