Going Straight Pipe... Which Exhaust Tips?
I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE with a Shortram Intake, and I am about ready to straight pipe the **** out of this thing. LOL.
I love loud cars and trucks, sorry, but it's who I am. And down here in Alabama, nobody cares what you do with your cars. (Buddy of mine took all 4 cats off his truck, ruined his gas mileage but that thing is insanely loud, had the work done 2 months ago and no trouble with cops)
Now here's my plan. I'm going to take it to a custom exhaust shop that uses high grade stainless steel 2.5" pipes but I'm wondering if I should just run the pipe all the way to the end? Or perhaps change the sound a little better and give it some exhaust tips?
The way I like cars and trucks to sound, is when I down shift or let off the gas, I want that thing to be popping and making all kinds of noise. Right now, I have a 2.5" QTP electric cutout which has worked perfectly since the day I had it installed, but it's not as loud as I want.
Does anyone have any experience with tips and which ones give a smoother rumble? I like the stock quad tip look, but if the dual tips sound better than it'll be worth the change for me.

As long as you have your cats, you will never get the sound you are inquiring about.
You can remove the whole exhaust system down to the Y-pipe underneath, as long as all 3 cats are intact it won't happen.
You can easily achieve dual tips with just a Y splitter and using no muffler, but may I suggest running a small single in dual out muffler on each side, just my experience.
