engine shuts off, hard shifting aotomatic tranny

Replaced crankshaft sensor, because the trans was shifting very hard. the car began to shut down after driving 10 minutes, but restarts after sitting for 10 minutes. ??? Auto Zone says it codes the intake valve sensor bank 2. where is it located on the 2004?

Never heard of intake valve sensor. Are you referring to camshaft sensor? If so, it is located on the left side of the engine up near the camshaft. Bank two is the bank near the front of the car. Sensor is attached with 10 mm bolt. (Look at internet on-line video on how to disconnect the plug). Camshaft sensor normally will not cause the car to stall, that is the crankshaft sensor which you noted that you replaced. If the car was not stalling before you installed the crankshaft then you probably installed a bad "new: crankshaft sensor. Camshaft sensors normally causes the car to be hard to start or jerk while driving.

Camshaft Sensor Bad

Well on my 2004 maxima i had a bad rear camshaft sensor and my car would stall. I would have to let it sit for around 10 minutes and it would start and drive. Every morning car would start and shut off randomly. And yes the car would hard shift due to timing being off. It wasn't the crank sensor. I would take out your camshaft sensor and look where the plug in goes. Mine was leaking oil into the connector itself. I bought a new one and all is good.
