2007 Maxima - Airbag light on

Hello all,
I am the original owner of this 2007 Maxima SL with 122k and the airbag light blinks steady while running.
I did the reset and it will go off but back on soon as its driven a few miles. Since other things on this car were never a straight forward fix, I was hoping for answers from the exoerienced experts here?
Thanks for any help,
ronvb

Did you put it in diagnostic mode and pull the air bag codes (not the same as the ECU diagnostic mode)? That will tell you what the problem area is.

No I don't have a scanner for this car.
I did the ignition on and off 5 times just as
Airbag light would come on and it cleared it
For a short time.I have a feeling it may be
In the passenger seat connections.
Thanks for your reply

I have had the same problem with my se, 122,000 miles also. I took the stering wheel cover off to check the wires on the driver side air bag, all were good. I really would like to fix this problem. I was told that Nissan had a tool that would permanently reset the light. They wanted $99 with no guarantee.

james,
From my experience dealing with Nissan- the only ones they help are themselves and in the cash register.
I have had great help in the past from more experienced members on this forum.

DeusExMaxima,
Maybe I misunderstood your response?
Are you saying without the use of a scanner enter diagnostic mode and count the flashes or times the airbag light blinks?

Yes, count the flashes of the airbag light by putting it in AIRBAG diagnostic mode (key on til light starts flashing, key off and repeat three times). Then it will direct you to where the problem is. Let me know if you need more help with that. I have dealt with this on my Maxima and my 350Z the last few weeks.

DeusExMaxima,
I ran the diagnostics and counting the flashes I am pretty sure that I get 19 (1 long and 9 short).
