It sounds like the starter is engaging the flywheel but cannot crank the engine over. How is the battery? Have you tried jumper cables?

Engine is seized. If you have precats, you already have the cause. Proof will be if there's no oil in it.

It seems like your starter/battery can't crank the engine. You got good advice in post #2 above. Adding to it:
  • Have you tried to get a boost? What happened?
  • In case you can't get a boost: The voltage on your battery should be at least 12.5V with the engine not running, and ~ 14.5V when running and charging. It should not drop below 10-10.5V when you are cranking. If it does, your battery is bad.
  • If the battery looks OK but you still can't crank, then the suspects are: Your starter, or the connections/ground between the starter and the battery.

Put a socket on the main pulley bolt and see if the engine will turn manually. Just make sure it's in neutral and your ignition is off.

That's exactly how a seized engine sounds if you try to start it. His symptoms fit perfectly, as well. That loud clunk is the starter engaging.

If it doesn't turn easily by hand, then it's seized.

It's not like I have experience with seized 3.5s or anything....
