I know I've seen this metioned here before but I can't find it now. What is causing this problem:

When I turn on my radio no sound come out. Some times it will work, but 99% of the time it doesn't.

Is this something I can fix, or where can I get it fixed(resonably). If I get an aftermarket HU does it sound as good as the factory Bose HU(I don't want to replace the bose speakers).

Thanks

Jimmy

same thing happened to me... today

so I was driving, and I hear a physical click behind my radio and all the sound went away. The display is still there, just no sound. I figure the wiring harness pulled out or something, I dont know. What year are you in? I am going to take my dash apart tommorow and look at it - here is my post from earlier where they told me how to take it apart.. I'll let you know what happens tommorow.

I think if you did a search on Bose here you would find that your system is starting to succumb to the all to familiar Bose system failure. Your stuff can be repaired as there are places that do it like www.boserepair.com

got it all out

welp, after the tedious process of getting everything apart (and my dash and console are still ripped apart).... I now have the radio out, and have no idea what the problem is. There is a tiny click inside of it... but who knows. I think I am just going to buy a new one, or send it to boserepair.com (170$??? yuck!)

oh well

car sucks without a radio - and my solobaric, well I blew it last week (I know, its the square one... they take sooo much power, how did I blow it ? It was LOUD!!!!!) but stillwater is sending me a new one soon!!!! so I hope to have my radio hooked back up by then! thats my goal

let me know if you do anything

$200 to fix

yuck! I took it to a local custom car audio place, and they said right away, circuit board failure... 200$

what other options do I have besides boserepair.com b/c that would hardly be saving any after shipping, plus the local place will do it in 1 afternoon....

just want to make sure I am doing the right thing before I dish out another 200$

There is no other options besides getting it fixed, finding one at a wrecker, or buying a replacement aftermarket unit....
