WRX and a newish Max on the highway

Not a racing story, but some info you guys/gals might like.

I have a 15 mile drive into work every morning. I live in the sticks, and there are stretches of interstate that I basically have I-40 to myself at 7:40 in the mornings. Thursday I was tooling along at 75-80(65 mph zone) and a Max runs up next to me, looks over and gooses it. So I thought "hey, a bit of fun early in the morn". So I smiled back and dropped a gear and *thought* I'd show him some WRX rear-end.

Boy, was I surprised. The Max stayed right with me, no gain, no loss. We both slowed down to 50 or so and then tried the run again. Same result, with the Max pulling me a hair this time. Never went to fast(maybe 90 at one point). I'm slightly modded, boost controller and a K&N . I know I'd own most Max's from a redlight run(AWD launch is incredible). I guess it's the 250 odd hp that gives y'alls rides the advantage on the roll type runs.

I'm gettin some better stuff bolted on next week(I hope, Vishnu seems to be backed up right now). The mods are supposed to give me 300-320 hp at the crank. Figure in the asanine driveline loss that the AWD comes with and I hope to be able to keep up with Max's at speed. Good friend of mine has a 2003, and after that Frankencar intake upgrade, I know he pulls harder when traction is not an issue, sounds VERY nice too.

Cliff notes:
Y'all can run with WRX's at speed, if not faster. Beware the modded WRX's tho, the turbos LOVE mods.

Did you run an '02-'03 or an older model maxima?
It was a VQ engined ride for sure, I'm thinking it was a 2003. No black stuff around the tails.

That max had to be supercharged to keep up with you. 250 hp for a maxima is quite hard without a supercharger or turbo. I heard WRX's suck on the freeway and are only good for 1/4 mile. Either you suck at driving which I doubt, and he was probally supercharged maybe NOS. I have 190 hp stock and 205 lbs torque stock, and the newer ones have 220 255. You probally races a 2000 because they are alot better on the freeway than the forth gens.

Stock...lowish 14's
With MBC and small "free" mods, high 13's.

Mid 13s are possible too. I know a guy with a silver WRX with a MBC as his only mod, he ran a 13.6
