I used to go to the track with a guy that went 14.9 stock, and 14.4 @ 97mph with intake, header, exhaust, and pullies. Warren (veetec on the board) went 13.79 @ over 100mph with all the bolt-ons in his 4th gen prelude.

VTEC was introduced in the 93 model year. 4th gen VTEC ludes tend to be a little quicker than the 97+ SH model given the SH is about 110lbs heavier. The 97+ base model is within 20lbs of the 93-96 VTEC lude so they are right on par with eachother. Supposedly the 97+ lude has an extra 10hp that they sqeeze out of somewhere.

its very possible to run high 14s in a fifth gen prelude.. you just have to finesse the clutch like a ****.
same deal with the new celica.. keeping it above 6000 all the way throught first and making sure it hits above 6k on the next two shifts is the difference between a 14.7-9 and a 15.4-7 pass.
of course thats hard on the clutch and hard period, but can be done.

hey i might get to race a friends '97 lude this summer. Hes got intake, exhaust, pulley and something else i think...hes only been able to manage about a 15.2-3 in his car and I told him I could show him up...
so what RPM to stage at? feather the clutch or drop it?
