go to discount autoparts get plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, hell, even change your oil while your at it. then just change it at home. or you could just take it to a shop and just tell them to install the parts you bought from the store. (to avoid the middleman fee)
is anybody getting that i couldnt lose nearly 10mph and at least a full second, and possibly almost 2 seconds, just by being a bad driver??
i mean seriously, hes had the car for 2 years, its not like he doesnt know how to drive it.
he is running his car very much the same way i ran my dynasty to 16.2 and the avenger to 17.8 on the same day at the same time.
there is something wrong with the way the engine is producing power, and i want to know what it is.
the engine runs very well, doesnt have any hesitation, dead spots, rough running, high idle, etc etc etc gets good mileage blah blah NO DISCERNABLE PROBLEMS other than the fact that its NOT as fast as it should be.
it DOES tick a little bit, suspected to be the timing chain tensioner. can the timing chain stretch enough to negatively affect performance by this much?

believe me, we've looked in all the obvious places. this is truly a brainbender. if anyone has any ideas PLEASE spit em out!
Is it that Black maxima in cardomain, look at those big heavy rims you got in it, there 18's right, take that into factor, Also try cleaning your injectors. Clean your TB with TB cleaning, Change your Air Filter, get a real diagnoses at a shop, usually thers things that dont show up, There might be a hole in the exhaust somewhere, check your connections between your sensors, make sure there all clean.
those rims are 16 inches and i think that wheel/tire combo weighs 42lbs a piece or so.. not THAT much heavier than the 2000 rims that were on it when it ran a 16.4 once. that run didnt feel quite full potential either.
the tb has been cleaned, the filter replaced, the intake modified and the intake resonator replaced with that pipe thing i forgot the name of. it has an axle back exhaust and no exhaust leaks, and the exhaust didnt change the performance of the car.
as for getting a diagnosis at a shop, i seriously think they will charge us a lot of money to find out something we could have found out ourselves.
this isnt an emergency, the car runs fine, but it is a problem.
how can i check the knock sensor? resistance? ive heard they are around 550k? when should we check it?

also, fyi the other 4th gen that we switched the ks with ran a 16.9 at best.. eesh. guess it needs the resistor treatment too..
anyway supposedly the car feels even better after 2 weeks, we will probably try again sometime in the next couple of weeks, possibly with the lighter stock rims.
anyway, this car is easy to find, it is #1 Maxima on cardomain.
