Heat sucks. But maybe that's not all of it.

temp: 85-86 deg, 74% humidity, Hub City drag (Hattiesburg, MS)

N.A.
15.309 @ 92.282, 2.403 60ft

50 shot NX
14.504 @ 101.579, 2.336 60ft
14.470 @ 100.595, 2.369 60ft

And I had to drive about 75 miles on the highway before getting to the drag strip. Left the spare in. Stock wheels. No HLSD. I weigh a little less than 2 bucks. And that O2 sensor everyone has problems with is also shot on mine.

Got the Stillen filter with Frankencar midpipe, Custom Maxima straight pipe, and 50 shot of NX.

My questions are: how much was heat a factor? Think the crappy O2 sensor hurt me any? (at WOT the O2 sensor doesn't really read anyway right?) Do these times seem right or should I be looking for faster slips with these conditions.

It's kinda difficult to compare to everyone else running mid 14's stock since I don't know what kinda temps, humidity, and elevations they're running.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

you track is at a decent elevation. Heat and humidity do kills times pretty badly, but your driving needs some work. You launches are where you need work. People that run 14's stock usually have low 2.2 to 2.1 60 ft times. Your mph is a little low, but that could be due to the engine being heat soaked.

I've had runs better than your NA time w/my stock auto 2k2 Max in similar temps. The humidity HAD to be MUCH lower though (don't know the values), since I know what that temp and humidity combo feels like (awful).

My best w/my stock 2K2 auto is ~14.9 w/o anything taken out. But the temp was REAL low (~37-39 deg F).

Best legit time I've seen here for stock 2K2 auto is 14.6.
Yeah, I think next time I'm gonna get there and let the car sit for a while after the hour and a half drive on the highway. Then I'll try as it gets darker and cool off. I think the biggest thing is my launch. I either don't hook up right away or am not giving enough throttle from the get go.

And humidity does play a good factor in the density of the air.

you're mph suggest you should be running at least high 14's. You're launches are killing you, 2.4 60's....you must have been having some serious wheel hop/spin. try launching at a lower rpm, and keep on working on what feels right to you.

Heat and hunidity like that will definately kill your car's performance. I loose about .3 and 2-3mph running on a day like that vs running on a 50 degree day.

Overall, I don't think you ETs are that terrible. The problem is that a handful of 2k2+ Maxima have gone mid to lower 14s so EVERYONE believes that they're suppose to be that quick. The same thing goes for "LS1s are good for 12s stock!!!". The truth is all tracks are different and conditions are always changing. For the most part with 2.2 60' and sub 70 degree temps, the 6 speed is good for 14.6-14.7@95mph and the auto is good for 14.8-14.9@93mph, on average. There will always be guys that get a few tenths quicker and some that are a few tenths slower.
