my friend thinks that he can best me in his like 97 dogde neon bone stock manual. and i'm runnin a 98 max auto wit cai ......would i waste him?? jus to clear this up with hiim

 

Umm, is it SRT-4, if so he will eat you alive. If he is regular POS neon he will get owned.

 

last time at NPR there was an old neon running like 16's or 17's in the 1/4...16's should be pretty standard for a dodge neon I believe ..... now those new SRT-4's, oh my gosh, blazing fast you'd have to have a SC or Nitrous to keep up.

However, since he's a stock 97 Neon you should have no problem running over him.

the srt4 neon was not offerd untill 2003 hes talking about a 97 the best they run is a 15.9 if its a R/T 5spd according to this

so if hes stock you shouldnt have much of a problem beating him but if he can drive and he gets the jump it would be very close

but then again its proboly not an R/T and those run like 16.9 which you would destoy

 

well the neon sport is still a regular neon i assume? it has 150hp like the R/T and ACR neon, but lacks the torque, if its the 132hp ones, u should beat him with ur eyes closed

I would give the guy a 3-spot (3 car length head start) and the jump (head start).

Tell him to look in the left upper corner of the windshield in his Neon, should have something written "Object appearing through this windshield are faster than they actually appear, one of the gerbils in your engine died, so you're running on three-gerbil power"

I raced a brand new 04 neon w/ 5 speed last weekend and walked all over him. At the end of first his headlights were at my rear bumper. When I hit second I was gone.

P.S. I'm a '96 auto GLE w/ only a cone filter
