...

the 140hp ones have 185torq on a 3.1litre v6, old skool
the newer ones have 150hp/155torq with 2.4, and the new ecotec have 10 less hp with a 2.2litre and 5 less torq, weighin in at about 2600lbs...

a 4th gen 5spd should take it no problem, the z24 5spd, civic SI or in canada, the siR, are on par with a 4th gen AUTO though... good for high 15s

I don't think they ever came with a 3.1 V6. I know I responded to this thread already...but I don't see anything, so I'll say it again.

Shame on you for asking if you can beat a Z24....you've got a 4th gen with 5 speed. There's no competition.

The old z24s had a 3.1 v6. Talking like pre 93 or so.

well, i was talking about the newer body style. so with the 3.1 V6, were the older models faster than the newer 2.4's?

The v6 was only available in automatic, so they weren't really any faster than the new 4cyl 5spds. both are slow.

The old school Z-24 came with a 2.8 V6 and were available in 5 speed. I had a friend that had one. I am not sure if the 3.1's were available in 5 speed form. However, they were pretty quick back in the day. I am not sure how they compare to our cars. You could always race one and let us know.
