For all you non boosted that ran under 15....

I have a few questions for everyone that ran under 15 that is not boosted...

did you take your seats out?

how much gas did you have in your tank? and what kind.?

what mods do you have?

did you drop your tire pressure?

did you follow the optimal shift points? if not what did you shift at?
(6550, 6200, 6050, 5760)

Any good advice?

Thanks

Well yes and no ? I have corbeau clubman seats that are 45 pounds lighter, and I do take out the back seat.

1/4 tank or less-------93 Shell or 93 Chevron (with 104 octane boost)

i have a bad habit of listening to the engine and guessing, sometimes i think doing it by the numbers would take the fun out of it. I cant really say on this one, im very close to redline.

I took all of my cd's,manual, spare tire and ran the tank down til my DTE was flashing(Not cool) put 5 gals of 76 super blue unleaded 100 octane set my front tire pressure at 23-24psi and ran a best of 14.92@92mph. I weigh about 260lbs and my car has a auto trans. My best 60' was a 2.2 & I screwed my potential best run by mistakenly moving the gear selector into 2nd after the dry burnout(had a car length on a 1st gen Ford Lighting when I hit the rev limiter). I got 6 runs in this night and found by doing a dry burnout was worth about a tenth on street tires. I launched pretty light so I know there's better et's in store for me with a more aggressive 60'. I want to go back real soon to shoot for a better et.

did you take your seats out?
Nope...3250 was my race weight

how much gas did you have in your tank? and what kind.?
1/4 tank

what mods do you have?
B&M short shifter, SR Headers/ypipe, midpipe, testpipe, popcharger, Eibach springs...Grounding kit...

did you drop your tire pressure?
nope

did you follow the optimal shift points? if not what did you shift at?
(6550, 6200, 6050, 5760)
About 6k on all of them...I only raced once with the above mods and got a 14.7. If I were to use the 'recommended' shift points in the sticky then my time will definitely improve

Any good advice?

Thanks

The easiest way for me to break into the 14 second category was to give up the 4th gen and hop into a 6th gen. Mid 14's are a common occurence. (stock) Nissan definetly stepped it up with the new max.

Tried dropping the pressure to no avail

i ran a 14.6@95.6 with a full interior and my mods were an intake and y pipe.

i tried shifting into 4th but didnt need it. i finished the 1/4 in 3rd gear at redline.

if my clutch wasnt slipping, i might have used 4th but i didnt need to this time.
